The Roman City of Bath is approximately a 40 minute drive. The beautiful coastal resorts of Lyme Regis and Burton Bradstock on the South Coast are within an hours drive away as are Weston Super Mare and Burnham on Sea to the West on Bridgewater Bay which forms part of the Mouth of the Severn Estuary.

Beaches, coastal resorts such as Minehead, Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon - which are all made for great family holidays catered around sun, sea and sand! Further inland awaits beautiful English countryside historic and exciting. There are numerous National Trust places around Somerset which are perfect for a day or an afternoon's visit, away from the hustle and bustle of town life.

Shepton Mallet

Situated in the Mendip Hills in eastern Somerset, this is an ancient market town mixed with modern day instrialisation. Located within easy reach of Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Abbey and Cheddar Gorge which all proud members of historical England at its best.

Castle Cary

This small market town is situated approximately 12 miles North East of Yeovil, 24 miles South of Bath and halfway between the Mendip Hills and the Blackmore Vale. A very attractive place to visit.

Worth a visit is The Eden Project which is a massive environmental complex in Cornwall, UK. Situated in a reclaimed china clay pit, located 1.25 miles (2 km) from the town of St Blazey and 3 miles (5 km) from the larger town of St Austell.

Only 15 minutes away is the quaint, historical and mythical town of Glastonbury. Not just the site for the popular festival but there is also t he Somerset Rural Museum (free entry), the famous Glastonbury TOR. Why not walk up the hill to the TOR and witness English Countryside at its best, with the fabulous views over Somerset. The festival itself is held at Pilton village (between Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet).

Travel by Rail

Castle Cary is 3 miles away and is a mainline railway station to Waterloo, London and West to the coast at St Ives. There is a regular bus service passing through the village to Shepton Mallet where there is a large Tesco Superstore and other shopping facilities.
